Fractional work starts with a problem, not a job title

The Fractional Roster was built around a simple idea: businesses rarely begin by deciding they need a fractional consultant.

They begin with something they need to build, run, fix or transform.

The challenge is finding the right expertise before that problem is squeezed into a familiar job title, handed to a recruiter or turned into a permanent role by default.

Built from experience on both sides

The Roster is built by Greenlight Partners and founded by Karen Frith.

Karen has spent more than 20 years working independently, winning complex work and helping organizations bring in experienced people when permanent hiring was not the right answer.

Over time, one pattern became impossible to ignore: buyers describe problems, while experts describe themselves through job titles and CVs.

The Fractional Roster was created to close that gap.

Matching problems with proven expertise

Consultants build profiles around the problems they have already solved, the outcomes they can deliver and the different roles their experience allows them to play.

Buyers describe what is happening inside their organization.

The Roster uses that information to surface the profiles that fit the problem, so both sides begin with relevance rather than keywords.

It is not a directory to browse or a jobs board to compete on. It is a different way to find and buy experienced capability.

More than a place to be found

For consultants, the Roster is also a place to build and run a fractional business.

You can turn a lifetime of experience into multiple buyer-ready profiles, understand where demand is emerging, shape and price your offers, manage your pipeline and make better decisions about where to focus.

For buyers, it provides a clearer route from “we have a problem” to “these are the people who may be able to solve it.”

Clear about what we do

Greenlight provides the platform for search, matching and introductions.

Buyers decide who is right for their organization, and consultants remain independent businesses responsible for the work they deliver.

That independence matters.

The Fractional Roster is not trying to make fractional consulting look more like recruitment.

It is building the infrastructure for organizations to buy expertise differently.
